Though the type of nose you would like to have depends on the type of nose you currently have, there are still certain procedures that are more popular than others. People generally consider certain features to be more “attractive,” in a conventional sense.
One is the “Korean Nose Lift,” which involves building up the nose bridge to make it higher. It can also include and sometimes changing the shape of the tip of your nose. If you’re a non-Asian foreigner, you’ve probably heard people here complimenting your nose height. Or if you don’t speak Korean, well, now you know what they were talking about. Or you had gochujang all over your face and didn’t realize it. Either one.
How popular is rhinoplasty in Korea?
According to 2015 data from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, rhinoplasty was the second most popular kind of plastic surgery performed in the country. This is the most recent data that includes Korea:
Even compared to other big countries where plastic surgery is popular — the U.S. and Brazil — Korea performed more rhinoplasty surgeries that year than BOTH of them! That’s right, Korea had the most number of rhinoplasty surgeries worldwide. And this is compared to two giant countries with huge populations. Well played, Korea, well played.
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty in Korea?
Though it is a “standard” procedure compared to other plastic surgeries, your potential surgery depends on many factors. This even includes your price range. The more work you want done, the more it will cost. This is true even though the cost is much cheaper in Korea than other countries.
